Konyin Ajayi
Managing Partner, Olaniwun Ajayi

Konyin Ajayi is the Managing Partner of the law firm, Olaniwun Ajayi, and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, with over twenty-nine years of legal practice experience. Konyin is a member of various domestic and international associations such as the International Bar Association, the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, the English and the Nigerian Bar Association.

Konyin Ajayi holds an LLM from Harvard Law School, and a PhD in International markets from Cambridge. He was also an FGN scholar in the University of Ife.

Seyi Akinwunmi
Partner, Akinwunmi & Busari

Seyi Akinwunmi is a founding partner of Akinwunmi & Busari. He has had over 20 (twenty) years experience as a Legal Practitioner, his specialization is in corporate restructurings, secured credit transactions, debt and corporate recovery, insolvency and turn around strategies.  He has been involved in various significant domestic reorganizations, complex financial transactions, insolvency, creditors’ rights, syndicated loan transactions and recoveries, as well as intricate corporate insolvency litigation matters.

Mr. Akinwunmi is a Fellow of Business Recovery in Nigeria (FBR), a founding member and current General Secretary of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN), a member of Insol International, the International Federation of Insolvency Practitioners, a member of the Insolvency and Creditors Committee of the International Bar Association and International, the Federation of Insolvency Practitioners.

Thomas Barry
CEO & Founder, Zephyr Management, L.P.

Prior to founding Zephyr, Mr. Barry was President and CEO of Rockefeller & Co., the investment management arm of the Rockefeller family, from 1983 to 1993. Previously, Mr. Barry was employed by T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. from 1969 to 1982. Among other responsibilities, he was President of T. Rowe Price New Horizons Funds, Inc., then the largest mutual fund specializing in small capitalization companies. Mr. Barry received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1969 and an undergraduate degree from Yale University in 1966 where he majored in Latin American Studies. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

Ike Chioke
Managing Director, Afrinvest

Ike has 16 years of investment banking experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions project/structured finance and debt/equity capital markets activities. His industry specializations include the telecommunications, media, financial services and general industrial sectors. Ike commenced his investment banking career in 1991 at Goldman Sachs in New York before moving to Citigroup’s Corporate & Investment Bank in London in 1998 where his last assignment was head of their Sub-Saharan Africa investment banking coverage. Ike joined Afrinvest in 2002. Ike has a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (First Class Honours) from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1987 and attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar where he obtained a Masters in Management Studies in 1991.

Eyamba Dafinone
CEO, IPMS

Eyamba has been CEO of Investment & Portfolio Management Services Limited (IPMS) since 1989 after having started her career with AVC Fund which specialised in turning around banks. She is currently a member of the Business Support Group and the Technical Committe on Manufacturing, both of Vision 2020.  Eyamba was a pioneer member of the National Committee on Mortgage Backed Securities. She is currently leading the turnaround project of Fanafrik (under Afriq Products Ltd), a household brand acquired in 2007.

She is also Director in C & M Exchange, a HR outsourcing company, passionate about property development and an avid art collector and member of the Organising Committee of The Ben Enwonwu Exhibition, which was opened by Princess Grace at the Royal Commonwealth Institute in London.

She is married to Ede an accountant in the Guinness Book of Records and most importantly a proud mother of two lovely girls.  Eyamba graduated in Economics from Warwick University and Cambridge.

Pascal G. Dozie
Chairman, MTN Nigeria

Pascal G. Dozie is the founder and former chairman of Diamond Bank PLC (LON: DBGA). He is currently the chairman of MTN Nigeria, the Co- Chairman of the Commonwealth Business Council board, and a founding partner of Africa Capital Alliance. Pascal Dozie is also the chairman and founder of Kunoch Limited.

Pascal Dozie holds an MSc in Econometrics from City University, London and a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Kunle Elebute

Since 2008, Kunle Elebute has led the advisory practice of KPMG Nigeria which provides Transaction & Restructuring, Risk & Compliance and Performance & Technology services to large domestic, international and public sector clients.  Kunle  has over 27 years experience during which he has provided financial advisory, transaction structuring, valuation and privatisation services to government owned entities, privately owned companies and multinationals in the telecommunications, oil & gas, hospitality and financial services sectors.

Okey Enelamah
CEO, African Capital Alliance

Okechukwu Enelamah is the Chief Executive Officer of African Capital Alliance. He brings private equity background gained in New York and Johannesburg from Zephyr Capital and South Africa Capital growth Fund. His previous experience was with Arthur Andersen and Goldman Sachs. After first qualifying as a medical doctor, Okey qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Nigeria, winning two national prizes in the qualifying examinations. He has an MBA with high distinction (Baker Scholar) from the Harvard Business School and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.

Malcolm Gilroy
Managing Director, Financial Datanet House Limited

Malcolm is currently the Managing Director of FDHL, a consulting and training firm that specializes in financial markets. Prior to this Mr. Gilroy was the Head: Global Wealth Management for UBA Capital in Lagos Nigeria and before then the Global Head of Sales and Trading & COO for UBA Global Markets. He has also been retained as a consultant to many major corporations and in 2004 was retained by IFC (World Bank Group) to advise the Nigerian government on measures to be taken to rejuvenate the Nigerian bond market.

Ben Ihekire
Managing Director, Diamond Bank Benin

Ben is currently the Managing Director of Diamond Bank Benin, a subsidiary of Diamond Bank Plc. Ben has extensive banking experience having worked in the Corporate Finance, Operations, Treasury and Internal Control departments of Diamond Bank. Ben led the consolidation program of Diamond Bank before his nomination as Managing Director of Diamond Bank Benin. He is a graduate of Accounting form the University of Benin, an MBA from University of Nigeria and he is a qualified chartered accountant.

Yvonne Ike

Yvonne Ike, was a Managing Director at JP Morgan and worked as head of J P Morgan West Africa until July 2009. In that role she managed a multi-million dollar business covering notably Investment Banking, Treasury Services and infrastructure finance. Her areas of specialisation include financial institutions and the general industrial sector and capital markets. During her 15 years at JP Morgan, Yvonne  worked in a variety of roles in  the Fixed Income, Credit and then Equity and Equity Derivatives and Private Banking and Corporate Finance Businesses. Prior to that she started her career as an accountant at Ernst and Young and later worked for Lehman Brothers before joining JP Morgan.
She currently sits on several boards.

Prior to joining Renaissance Capital in 2008 Kato had 11 years of experience in both investment banking and research at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney / Citigroup. Teddy Ngu

Teddy Ngu is a Director in the Performance Improvement Consulting and Head of the Strategy Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Nigeria. Before joining PwC Nigeria, Teddy worked the Strategy in Pepsico Group Strategy in Purchase New York. Prior to Pepsico Dr Ngu was a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group’s (BCG) New York Office.

Teddy Ngu has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. Prior to his MBA, he worked with British Telecoms and Ernst & Young UK.

Gbenga Oyebode

Gbenga Oyebode is the managing partner of Aluko & Oyebode, heading the firm’s corporate and energy practice areas with significant expertise in project finance, corporate law, energy and natural resources, telecommunications and aviation law.

Mr Oyebode serves as the Chairman of Okomu Oil Palm Plc, as well as the Chairman of Access Bank plc. He also serves on the board of directors of MTN Nigeria and Crusader Insurance Plc.

Michael Oyebola
Chief Investment Officer, Guaranty Trust Assurance

Michael’s professional investment career spans over 16 years with such overseas institutions as Mellon Bank, Legal & General, Regent Fund Management, Investec Asset Management, Laxey Partners (as Head of Treasury, Hedging & Derivatives managing $350m) and Thornhill Investment Management (as a team member managing £500m). He was also the former pioneer Head of Investment of Crusader Sterling Pensions Ltd.

He holds a Masters degree in Finance from Middlesex University, London and Masters of Science in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling, Scotland.He is an Associate Member of CFA UK.

Rotimi Oyekanmi
CEO, West Africa, Renaissance Capital Partners

Rotimi Oyekanmi is currently West Africa CEO of Renaissance Capital Partners the merchant banking arm of the emerging market investment group in the region. Mr Oyekanmi was most recently Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for African Capital Alliance (“ACA”), a leading fund manager in Nigeria and West Africa. Prior to being CIO, he was responsible for establishing the SME Fund for ACA in 2001 and was CEO of the Fund from inception until January 2007. Before joining ACA in 1999 he was, for over four years, Executive Director of Ventures & Trusts Limited, a diversified financial institution. Previous employment included Prime Merchant Bank in Lagos, the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Ibadan and Arthur Andersen in Lagos.

Solomon Quaynor
Nigeria Country Manager, IFC

Mr Adegbie-Quaynor is currently IFC’s Country Manager for Nigeria, based in Lagos. Prior to this, he served as IFC’s Head of Business Development in Infrastructure for Africa. In 2002, he was appointed to oversee IFC’s activities in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

He has a B.Sc. in Applied Physics (Atlanta University Center); an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Georgia Institute of Technology); and, an MBA (J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management).

Genevieve Sangudi

Genevieve Sangudi is a Managing Director of Emerging Capital Partners (ECP), a leading private equity fund manager focused on Africa with over $1.6 billion in capital under management. ECP has a ten year track record of investing in Africa and has made over 35 investments in the telecommunications, oil & gas, mining, financial services, agribusiness, transportation and utilities sectors. ECP has invested in over 40 countries in Africa and has six offices on the continent. The firm’s investment strategy is focused on delivering consistently above-market returns to investors that are generally uncorrelated to the U.S. and other global economies.

Ms. Sangudi set up and manages ECP’s Nigeria office, the firm’s largest operations by capital deployed. Ms. Sangudi plays an active role in deal sourcing, negotiation, portfolio management, structuring and investor relations. Ms. Sangudi, who joined the ECP investment team in 2004, and previously worked in marketing and business development at Procter & Gamble where she was part of a cross-functional team that oversaw several multi-billion dollar brands.

Ms. Sangudi has served on the boards of Blue Financial Services (South Africa), Notore Chemical Industries (Nigeria), Continental Reinsurance (Nigeria), and Oando Plc (Nigeria). She holds an MBA and a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University. Ms. Sangudi is a Tanzanian national and is a naturalized citizen of the U.S.

Vivien Shobo
Managing Director, Agusto & Co.

Vivien Shobo is the Managing Director of Agusto & Co, Nigeria’s foremost Credit Rating Agency. She joined the company in April 1998, and held various positions prior to her appointment as Managing Director in September 2003.

Vivien holds a B. Sc. Honors degree in Accounting from the University of Benin (1986) and is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria. She also holds an MBA from the Manchester Business School.

Elsa L. Wentling

Elsa L. Wentling, is a management consultant with McKinsey. Her expertise ranges from developing growth/acquisition strategies at corporate, regional & business unit level to market segmentations and business valuations.

Ms. Wentling also advised a pan-African telecommunications company on new business development; prior to that, she was an investment officer for a pan- African private equity firm. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Business School.
